Privacy Policy

How Homeschooler collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated May 3, 2026

Who we are

Homeschooler is an iOS app that helps parents track homeschooling time per child and per subject. The app is operated by Wade Bruce (Brucelabs), a sole-proprietor based in the United States. You can reach us anytime at wbruce31@gmail.com.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to make the app work for you.

We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

How we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Children's information

Homeschooler is designed for parents and guardians, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The information about your children that appears in the app — names, grade levels, subjects, time entries — is entered by you, the parent or guardian, and is treated as your data. We use this information only to provide the tracking features you use it for, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or profiling.

If you would like that data deleted, contact us at wbruce31@gmail.com.

How we share information

We share data only with infrastructure providers we use to run the service:

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with marketers. We may disclose information if required by law (for example, in response to a valid legal request).

Data retention

We keep your account data and homeschooling records for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will delete it from our active systems within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for a short time before being overwritten.

Your rights

You can:

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, just email us — we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in AWS using their managed encryption at rest. Authentication is handled by Apple and Google directly — we never see your password. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Homeschooler after a change means you accept the updated policy.
